Oxidative Stress Produced by Paraquat Reduces Nitrogen Fixation in Soybean-Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens Symbiosis by Decreasing Nodule Functionality

چکیده
Soybean (Glycine max.) is one of the most important legumes cultivated worldwide. Its productivity can be altered by some biotic and abiotic stresses like global warming, soil metal pollution or over-application herbicides paraquat (1,1’-dimethyl-4,4’-bipyridinium dichloride). In this study, effect oxidative stress produced addition (0, 20, 50 100 µM) during plant growth on symbiotic nitrogen fixation (SNF) functionality Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens-elicited soybean nodules were evaluated. Results showed that µM was threshold B. diazoefficiens tolerate under free-living conditions. symbiosis with soybean, statistically reduced shoot root dry weight plants, number development nodules. SNF negatively affected paraquat, which total content fixed close to 50% when added. These effects due impairment nodule increased status nodules, as revealed lower leghaemoglobin higher lipid peroxidation in from paraquat-treated plants.

Crocin Reduces Oxidative Stress Produced by Busulfan Administration on Fertility of Male Rats
Background & Objective: Busulfan (BUS) as a drug for cancer treatment can produce free radicals. Crocin (CRO) is a potent antioxidant with beneficial effects. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of CRO against BUS-related damages to the male rats reproductive parameters. Materials & Methods: Forty-eight male rats were randomly assigned into 8 groups; Group 1 (normal control group) ...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens USDA 122, a Nitrogen-Fixing Soybean Symbiont
We report the complete genome sequence of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens USDA 122, a nitrogen-fixing soybean symbiont. The genome consists of a 9.1 Mb circular chromosome, and 8,551 coding sequences (CDSs) were predicted on the genome. The sequence will provide insight into the evolution of rhizobial genome, and the symbiotic compatibility with host plants.
متن کاملMetabolomic Profiling of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens-Induced Root Nodules Reveals Both Host Plant-Specific and Developmental Signatures
Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens is a nitrogen-fixing endosymbiont, which can grow inside root-nodule cells of the agriculturally important soybean and other host plants. Our previous studies described B. diazoefficiens host-specific global expression changes occurring during legume infection at the transcript and protein level. In order to further characterize nodule metabolism, we here determine...
متن کاملOrigin and Evolution of Nitrogen Fixation Genes on Symbiosis Islands and Plasmid in Bradyrhizobium
The nitrogen fixation (nif) genes of nodule-forming Bradyrhizobium strains are generally located on symbiosis islands or symbiosis plasmids, suggesting that these genes have been transferred laterally. The nif genes of rhizobial and non-rhizobial Bradyrhizobium strains were compared in order to infer the evolutionary histories of nif genes. Based on all codon positions, the phylogenetic tree of...
متن کاملThe antioxidant acetylcysteine reduces oxidative stress by decreasing level of AOPPs.
Oxidative stress and especially its connection with many diseases has been discussed much recently. Among markers of oxidative stress there appear new and quite specific ones called advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs). We tried to influence the level of AOPPs by an antioxidant therapy with N-acetylcysteine. Fourteen individuals with many cardiovascular risk factors were examined. All th...
